I have been working out with John since the 8th grade and he has done nothing but help me ever since. I play baseball and the workouts he does with me are specifically for baseball and build my body for that sport. When I first started lifting I had no clue what I was doing and he helped me and taught me exactly how I should lift and the correct forms to every lift and has pounded that in my head ever since. Now everything is second nature to me and I think him for that. I love working out with John and getting stronger and better and I hope it's something I can carry on and do for the rest of my life. It has all paid off as I will be attending the University of NC-Wilmington on a baseball scholarship in the fall of 2018.

I've been training with John Rhodes for a few years now. He listens to you and will work with you. I had a couple of injuries and John helped me work around them and eventually helped me recover. John will push you to achieve what goals you both set and will make sure you are doing the exercises correctly. If you are not comfortable doing one exercise, he will adjust your training to another exercise. I see him twice a week, my husband sees him three times a week, and my 70+ mother-in-law also sees him twice a week

After having balance issues, I began working our with John twice a week at the end of January, 2016. I am continually impressed with all the different routines John puts me through. I crawl out of the gym most of the time. My balance is improving. I can now climb stairs with little effort and the walker is in the attic. My wife and I just returned from a Holiday Ball in Columbia, S.C where we danced and had lessons for 4 days, morning, noon & night. I was able to keep up. At my age, 80+ , you need to keep moving. John has me going in the right direction.

When I started training with John I thought I was in pretty good shape. Quickly found out I had a long way to go. I've been training with him for 5 years and feel the best I've ever felt. Just finished radiation and because of the training he does have been able to continue to run and workout throughout the treatments. The gym is fantastic and has everything you need to workout. I also really like the variety or workouts that John employs.

Numbers never lie. It’s the most common theme throughout sports. Whether it’s a batting average or a free throw percentage, they give you the full picture of what somebody is capable of doing. There’s more to an individual than just the numbers, but they paint a pretty good picture.
So, here’s your numbers. 100% of the athletes that were considered dedicated to coming in and working with John are now Division 1 Athletes. That is a 1.000 batting average. 100% Free Throw Percentage.
Although the numbers are damn near perfect, like I said, they still aren’t the entire picture. My first time coming in to John I threw up after two suicides. Two. Most trainers would just look and see a lost case, someone who would NEVER be capable of playing a collegiate sport. The patience and flexibility that I received from Legends was by far the most impressive part of my experience. John, slowly but surely, brought me (the lost cause) from a guy who throws up after two suicides to a guy who can run and lift with any college program in the country.
The last point of my three pronged review is the personal relationship I gained with John. At first, John was a little bit scary and cold. That’s just how he is, and I’m the same way so it felt odd. This changed. Quickly. Workout by workout it felt less like I was with a trainer, but more like I was with one of my best friends. Legends became a home. Working out became the highlight of my day, which is a weird thing to think about.
So I guess it’s time to wrap this long overdone testimonial up. Legends is a gym, but more importantly it’s a home. Where you can get better each and every day with your teammates by your side pushing you to get that last rep in. A place where you can achieve the most insane goals you could imagine for yourself with one of your closest friends helping you. 10/10.
